I have over 30 years of international high level academic pediatric imaging experience. I was born in Amsterdam, the Netherlands and in 1978 I earned my M.D. degree at Boston University, USA. Later I completed fellowships in Pediatric Radiology at Harvard Medical School and in Children’s Hospital Medical Center, Boston, USA. After that in 1991, I finished my PhD at Erasmus University, Rotterdam, the Netherlands. Since then I am a pediatric radiologist, have written 8 books and more than 120 articles.
I am currently the professor and Radiologist-in-Chief at the Golisano Children’s Hospital at the University of Rochester Medical Center (URMC). I have also served as the chairman of the Department of Radiology at University Medical Center (UMC) Nijmegen and associate professor of Radiology at the Harvard Medical School.
