I am an associate professor of Medicine at the Medical University Vienna in Austria, specialized in gastroenterology/hepatology and head of the Gastrointestinal Oncology Working Group of the Austrian Society of Gastroenterology/Hepatology (ÖGGH).
I am a clinical and scientific specialist for liver diseases, liver cirrhosis and hepatobiliary cancers and co-founded the Vienna HCC-Study group (Hepatocellular carcinoma), which is involved in a number of academic and industrial sponsored phase 1-3 trials of novel drugs and devices for HCC treatment. I am a leading member of the interdisciplinary hepatobiliary tumor board and the liver transplantation team of the Medical University of Vienna.
