(2 reviews)The Department of Radiology in the UCSD Medical Center offers a comprehensive range of imaging services and advanced procedures to diagnose a wide variety of conditions. Our radiology specialists have high level expertise in virtually every imaging area, including abdominal imaging, breast imaging, neuroradiology, interventional and vascular radiology, musculoskeletal radiology and ultrasound. Additionally, the department has a dedicated Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Institute.
Dr. Donald L. Resnick, MD, Professor of Radiology and Chief of Osteoradiology at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD), has devoted more than 30 years to musculoskeletal radiology education. A world-renowned educator, more than 150 clinical fellows and 400 international research fellows, from over 20 countries throughout the world, have received one-on-one training through his fellowship programs. For the radiology community, Dr. Resnick has made available 900 scientific/educational articles (more than 100 published in Radiology), 72 book chapters, and 16 books on musculoskeletal radiology.
Dr. Ladd, Clinical Professor at UCSD Medical Center read my chest CT for me. I had asked him to look at the course of the phrenic and recurrent laryngeal nerves due to my symptoms. Dr. Ladd went one step further and evaluated the lower larynx (in the neck), which was on the upper edge of the scan but is normally not part of a chest CT report. Although my diagnosis remains idiopathic, as most cases of my condition are, I'm assured that the possibility of cancer (30% of the cases in my condition) has been ruled out. Going the extra mile is characteristic of excellence in any profession, and especially appreciated among medical professionals. Richard D. McCabe, PhD, Teaching Professor of Pathophysiology
