Meet Bhavin Govindji Jankharia, MD, one of India’s leading radiologists, President of the Indian Radiology & Imaging Association and CEO of Jankharia Imaging, a private medical imaging group in Mumbai. He is also a key member of Diagnose.me Medical Advisory Board:
Dr. Jankharia is a practicing radiologist for the last 18 years and has interpreted more than 100,000 CT scans and 75,000 MRI scans in this period. His main interests are in chest, musculoskeletal and cardiac radiology and image-guided intervention. We asked him few questions about radiology and second opinion.
Why have you chosen radiology as a profession?
There are multiple reasons. My father is a radiologist, so there was a background already present. I like working with machines and technology and became interested in the whole concept of technology as a driver for diagnostics.
What are the main challenges of CEO of private medical imaging group?
Managing people. Establishing operating procedures and maintaining compliance.
We know that you are a passionate runner. Can you see some parallels between radiology and long-distance running?
Both require hard-work, dedication, training and passion.
What would you tweet to your patients if you had only 140 signs?
Radiology is not just about reading images. It’s the science & art of making a diagnosis and helping in your treatment using images.
Where do you see the highest potential of Diagnose.me for India?
I think that the highest potential here is in second opinions related to complicated cases.
You can find all Diagnose.me specialists here.
